Our work is guided by our commitment to develop a strong, skilled and sustainable Canadian workforce. We work closely with employers to understand your needs and create pathways to work for qualified trainees. We believe that matching the right person to the job benefits everyone by increasing job satisfaction and productivity.
We can help you meet your labour needs by:
- Providing qualified candidate referrals in response to hiring needs
- Conducting interviews and/or pre-screening candidates
- Posting available positions on PTP Job Boards
- Coordinating and hosting Job Fairs on your behalf, giving you access to a large pool of job seekers
PTP has placed qualified candidates in a wide range of industries, including customer service, kitchen help, retail sales, information technology, administrative support, cleaning and housekeeping, personal support work, construction (including skilled trades), food processing and many other sectors.
Job Placement and Training Incentives
Our job trials and training incentives enable us to place qualified candidates in your workplace on a trial basis. We assign a Job Coach who works with the trainee and the employer throughout the placement, with on-the-job and post-program support tailored to the needs of both parties.
Our trainees have the drive and skills to succeed in your workplace, and our job trials and training incentives make it easy to demonstrate that.
We start by talking to you about the position you want to fill. Then we pre-screen eligible candidates to find someone with the skills and competencies to do the job. Once we have found a good match, we arrange a job trial so the person can learn on the job in your workplace. We work with you to arrange any accommodations that may be necessary for the person to succeed, and we’ll continue to support the trainee for at least six months after placement. If cost is an issue, we can make training incentives, or training dollars, available to help cover the cost of on-the-job training.
Customized Training
We can also deliver customized training tailored to your workplace needs. We’ll work with you to assess your needs, deliver training at our offices or your worksite.
Employers who offer essential skills training see employees with more confidence, enhanced skills, better performance, and improved ability to adapt to change. PTP offers customized training and assessment tools that work in a range of workplaces and encompass the needs of all stakeholders.
We have experience delivering literacy and communications skills, numeracy skills, computer skills, ESL for the workplace, pre-GED and GED preparation across a number of sectors, including manufacturing, hospitality, health care, custodial and support services.
Our programming can be delivered in a short time frame and can be customized to meet the needs of participants with a range of skills in a single setting or workplace. Our services can include:
- Initial needs assessment with debriefing session and training plan.
- Instruction in your workplace or in the evenings at our PTP East location (typically a total of 36 contact hours delivered over 6 weeks). All learning materials are supplied.
- Exit assessment with debriefing session and concluding report.
A typical total cost for 12 participants is $10,200. Funding for this training may be available through a Canada-Ontario Job Grant.

PTP’s employment services team prepares recent graduates of George Brown’s College Vocational program to transition successfully to the workplace. When you hire these graduates, you get employees who benefit from PTP’s extensive expertise, knowledge, and ongoing support, all at no cost to you. PTP staff matches your needs with the skills and the knowledge of our clients. Additionally, PTP provides incentives such as job coaching, transportation and materials for eligible clients.
