Synergy, an employer partner that works directly with PTP, is hiring school crossing guards for multiple locations in Toronto.

Toronto — must reside in M4, M5, or M6 postal code areas (no exceptions)

Casual/on-call initially
Hours
20–30 hours per week when placed at a permanent location
Setting
Outdoor school crosswalks

Job requirements

  • Must currently live in M4, M5, or M6 postal code
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather (cold, heat, snow, wind, etc.)
  • Able to stand for up to 2 hours at a time
  • Able to travel up to 20 minutes by transit
  • Able to hold/display a stop sign (2–5 lbs)
  • Clear communication skills and ability to follow procedures
  • Available during school hours (AM, lunch, PM)
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Vulnerable Sector Check required (cost reimbursed after 3 months)

Key duties

  • Safely guide pedestrians across crosswalks
  • Communicate safe crossing practices
  • Identify safe traffic gaps
  • Report incidents, hazards, or suspicious activity
  • Wear safety equipment at all times
