The opening

PTP is working with a dental office to fill an opening. The employer is seeking a dedicated and organized dental administrator to join their team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and productive operation of the dental office by providing excellent customer service, managing patient records on Dentrix, and facilitating communication between patients and dental staff. This position requires a friendly demeanor, expert attention to detail, and the ability to handle various administrative tasks efficiently and under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients as they arrive and assist them with check-in procedures.
  • Book appointments and manage the dental office schedule using Dentrix software, and effectively manage cancellation(s) or cancellation request(s).
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure electronic medical records are up to date.
  • Answer incoming calls on a multi-line phone system, addressing inquiries and directing calls as necessary.
  • Process patient payments and manage billing inquiries.
  • Communicate effectively with dental staff to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as filing, printing, auditing schedules, and maintaining office supplies.
  • Utilize dental terminology to assist in patient communication and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Dental Administrator or in a similar role within a dental or medical office for at least 3 years is mandatory and a great asset.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with Dentrix software is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry is essential.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
  • Proficiency in managing electronic medical records and other office technologies.
  • Prior experience working with front desk operations in an office setting is beneficial.
