    What to expect from workshops

    Résumé Writing Workshop:
    Your résumé is the most important marketing tool to help you in your job search. If you want to convince recruiters and employers that it is worth their time to invite you for an interview, you will need to learn how to design a winning résumé. By the end of this workshop, you’ll be able to create your own high-quality résumé and increase your chances to get the job you want!In this workshop, you will learn everything you need to know to create your own winning résumé.

    Interviewing for Success:
    Learn some helpful hints for answering tough interview questions, while determining which questions to ask an employer during your interview. Learn about illegal interview questions and develop the skills you need to navigate the salary negotiation process.

    Mock Interviews:
    Interact with an Employment Facilitator in a video recorded mock interview. Follow up on your results with a private feedback session and additional role play to become comfortable with successfully completing an interview.

    The Hidden Job Market and Networking:
    Learn about different ways to look for jobs, including the purpose of networking in connecting with the hidden job market. Learn how to “sell” yourself to employers. You’ll discuss, role model, prepare cold call “scripts” and an introductory statement to prepare yourself for making contact. Discover how to create a job leads list from various cultural and ethnic business directories.

    Social Media for Job Search:
    This workshop explores the impact your social media thumbprint has on your job search and how to review and refresh your social media profiles to assist you with presenting your profile in a professional, positive manner. The workshop also goes into detail on how to set up your Facebook profile for job search as well as how to use Messenger to apply for local jobs of interest.

    Job Readiness Strategies:
    In this workshop, Employment Counsellor will focus on the fundamentals of job search process and provide audience with job search tools and strategies.
